Position Summary
We’re looking for a dependable and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to support our financial operations in a fast-paced construction environment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys organization, teamwork, and building strong relationships with vendors and project teams.
What You’ll Do
- Process vendor and subcontractor invoices accurately with proper job cost coding.
- Partner with Project Managers to maintain organized and accurate job costs.
- Manage check runs, ACH payments, and wire transfers.
- Track and organize lien waivers, COIs, and vendor compliance documentation.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies professionally.
- Maintain vendor files, W-9s, and contract documentation.
- Support month-end close, AP accruals, and audit preparation.
- Reconcile credit card statements monthly
- Serve as a reliable point of contact for vendors and internal teams.
What You Bring
- 2+ years of accounts payable experience, preferably in construction.
- Strong understanding of job costing, lien waivers, and subcontractor compliance.
- Experience with Sage 300, CMiC, Bluebeam, and Excel.
- Excellent organization and communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a deadline-driven, team-oriented environment.
- Knowledge of AIA billing or 1099 processing is a plus.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; associate degree in accounting or related field preferred.
- Experience in construction accounting or accounts payable processes preferred.
